Happy Lantern Festival!

The Lantern Festival is a traditional Chinese festival, which has become an important part of the Spring Festival customs. It is truly a 'carnival' for the whole society. From staying up late on New Year's Eve to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, all members of society, regardless of gender or age, participate in the festive activities. The Lantern Festival is not only popular on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, but also highly valued in overseas Chinese communities. In June 2008, the Lantern Festival folk customs were included in the 'Second Batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage List'.
